Monday, October 13 at the University College Torleone was held the first meeting of Anthropology seminar, designed for participants in the first year of the program FIRE.
report here a brief summary of the main topics dealt with by the rapporteur, Dr. Massimo Tucciarelli.
The term "ethics" can mean:
- The moral life of the individual (moral practice).
- reflection on the principles that guide it (moral consciousness).
- reflection on common principles to the moral life of all people (moral philosophy).
Only in one sense. it is a practical problem.
The moral life is the life of the individual attractions in relation to intelligence. Intelligence is moral (or practical) when reflecting on the attraction and is subject to it.
Despite the moral life of purpose is critical that we pursue, and thus is of the utmost importance to us, However, it is difficult to describe. This difficulty is due to the fact that the attractions not consider concepts, while the intelligence work on concepts. To describe the moral life is then necessary to construct concepts through reflection and analogy.
