We are racing.
I arrived in Genoa on Thursday afternoon and as always was a race to better prepare the boat ..... important things but not necessary.
The pleasant surprise was Robert Iuvara co-skipper in the race: a beautiful person with solid experience of sailing, until a couple of days ago I knew only from the descriptions Sergio, even at the Grande Motte we had missed by a hair (like I'm leaving and she was on the way), again a pleasant surprise, motivated, competent, friendly and easygoing. then the meeting with Paul Etciù the holder of the sponsors of this race, a nice guy and a lover of the sea that has helped us not only economically but also climbing on the scaffolding to attach adhesives. However
coming to today: The GPI 2010 is still part little wind, little water and few drops of rain, the only request I have over me when I noticed that the magnificent 61 feet (Grampus YCI) on which I embarked was virtually draining the petrol station and asked "to che ora pensiamo di tornare" mi è stato risposto venerdì prossimo ho capito che non si trattava di una gitarella di 2 ore per vedere la partenza ma di una delle barche appoggio....... confesso che la tentazione di ritirare la domanda l'ho avuta ma "tantovaleva", se avessi avuto a disposizione tutto questo tempo, accettare il perenne invito di Sergio a fare una regata in doppio.

Misteri della comunicazione.....ieri quando ho parlato con il comandante, per lui, era chiaro che sarei rimasto per tutto il GPI, per me che avrei sfruttato quella bella barca per avere un punto di vista diverso da cui fare qualche foto per poi tornare a terra.
Grazie comunque per l'ospitalità che mi era stata accordata (ma c'era lo zampino di Roberta).
Alla fine ho trovato un gommone e ho seguito Bologna in Oceano - Etciù fino alla partenza.

Come di norma si è lavorato sodo ma con soddisfazione anche perchè, e qui mi ripeto, quello dei mini è un bell'ambiente e al piacere di lavorare per il proprio progetto si somma quello di rivedere alcune persone conosciute lo scorso anno e di incontrarne di nuove altrettanto valide.
